Voices for Change

[View this email in your browser]()

*At the City Reliquary Museum we stand in solidarity, mourning the deaths of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, Ahmad Arbury, and countless other black lives that have been taken. We recognize these protests as both a pivotal historical moment and also as part of a long history of systemic racism, which museums have historically perpetuated.*

*During this moment, we are acknowledging the sad irony of history repeating itself. Today, we watch the same battles taking place that generations before us have fought. But it is a fight we must continue. *

*As a civic organization for-the-people, we at the City Reliquary are directing our privileged platform toward the voices of dissent in our city. When we have an opportunity to turn our spotlight over to those fighting for social justice, we will do so. At times we will remain silent to allow more bandwidth for those who are helping to reeducate and guide more well-informed generations to follow us.*

*Tonight, we are welcoming the political activist, NYC guide, and rogue scholar, **Michael Pellagatti **to give context to the history of protest in NYC on our weekly live show, Panorama Challenge: Home Edition.*

*Tomorrow, we will welcome 2021 City Council Candidate and New Kings Democrats leader, **Brandon West **to our weekly live show, Miss Subways: Home Edition to speak about civil rights and the fight for racial justice in NYC. *

*Following these interviews, our programming will remain dark until relevant voices in the fight for social justice choose to use them as a platform for reeducation. *

*We hope you all remain safe, healthy, and civic as always.*

*In solidarity,*
