As we enter the holiday season, I’d like to take a moment to let you know how incredibly grateful I am. One year ago, the City Reliquary Board of Directors and I asked for your vote of confidence and help to continue weathering the COVID-19 pandemic. **Your generous support has helped ensure that the City Reliquary will survive the biggest challenge of its nearly 20-year history.** In a time where arts and nonprofit organizations have been struggling to survive, and many important cultural spaces have been lost, we are deeply humbled and thankful.
Our **2021 Annual Report** will show just how much you have helped us achieve. Please know that you have been an essential part of our support team. Unlike other museums, the City Reliquary was not founded on a substantial endowment (“endowment” hardly enters into our vocabulary!). The organization grew from a window display in my Grand Street apartment thanks to the commitment of everyday New Yorkers. Today, that support is represented by the thousands of visitors like you who walk through our door each year.
As our 20th year in Williamsburgh approaches, we face challenges old and new, including major necessary upgrades to our outdoor event space and an impending rent increase.
