Join us this Thursday at 6 pm for a screening of *Talking Trash* (run time: 22 min), followed by a Q&A with the project's teaching artist,
Dillon de Give.
Since the Fresh Kills landfill closed on Staten Island over 15 years ago, NYC has exported its trash elsewhere. Everyone from government officials to local residents have debated this complicated process, but one thing all folks agree on is that this current system is too costly and difficult to maintain. Where does our trash go and who makes these decisions? What’s the dirt on NYC’s mounting trash problem?

The Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP) and teaching artist Dillon de Give partnered with students at Frances Perkins Academy in Greenpoint to dig deeper into the complicated world of garbage infrastructure.

**Rock Collection Collection Closing Reception Friday, April 27th, 6-8 PM $5 General ; Free for City Reliquary Members**

Join artist Ben Sisto this Friday for the closing of his Rock Collection Collection display. The final party for this quirky collection will include a playlist of NYC rock music and beer from The Brooklyn Brewery.
Rock Collection Collection began ca. 1988 when Sisto's parents got him his first rock collection from a geological tourism spot in New England. The collection expanded in 2015 when a friend mailed him a second collection with similar, now-retro aesthetic properties: A grid of specimens; amateur glue jobs; DIY type-setting. Today, there are about 45 collections in Sisto's collection, of which about a dozen have been featured in the City Reliquary's [Community Collections ](http://www.cityreliquary.org/communitycollections/)display.

Rock Collection Collection has been developed in part through the generous support of
Science Sandbox and New Lab. Ben Sisto also curates cultural programs for Ace Hotel and is the world's leading expert on Who Let the Dogs Out.
