**Friday, July 6th: ATL**

On Friday, July 6th, we'll be taking it down to the A with a screening of the classic 2006 coming-of-age film, ATL. The film follows four friends as they navigate challenges and prepare for life after high school. All of their experiences come full circle at their local rollerskating rink, Cascade.

Doors open at 7pm, the film starts at 8pm. Tickets are $10 and include admission to the Empire Skate exhibit.

**Roll Bounce with Bill Butler**

July 13th

July's *Summer of Skate* screening is [Roll Bounce](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ujiwRabXfQ), a feature film starring Bow Wow as the leader of a roller skating crew in 1970s Chicago.

Introducing the film is legendary skater Bill Butler, widely known as "The Godfather of Roller Disco". During the filming of Roll Bounce, Bill was the Skate Director and an integral part of the film's choreography.

Doors at 7, film starts at 8 in our beautiful outdoor garden. Come early to see Roll Bounce memorabilia on display in the Reliquary's "Empire Skate" exhibit.

Against the backdrop of Williamsburgâ€™s famed [Giglio Feast](https://www.olmcfeast.com/), The City Reliquary presents a pop up roller disco in the gymnasium of [Our Lady of Mount Carmel](https://www.olmcchurchbk.com/). 

In a rare New York appearance, [Bill Butler](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi8DiG3NL8Q), widely known as the "Godfather of Roller Disco", will bring magic to the floor. [DJ Big Bob](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWc8aqy8EqE), one of Empireâ€™s regular DJs for more than twenty years, will be spinning the classic skate sounds and [DJ Dirtyfinger](https://www.instagram.com/dirtyfinger/) will introduce the night with a special blend of grooves ready for the rink.

Skate rentals in all adult sizes will be available for $10 courtesy of [The RollerWave NYC](https://www.instagram.com/rollerwavenyc/), an organization created to introduce a younger generation to skate culture through pop-up roller skating experiences.
