We are thrilled to announce our 14th edition of Collector's Night! Presented in collaboration with [Atlas Obscura](atlasobscura.com) and held for the first time at The Bell House in Gowanus, our collection of collectors will be bigger than ever before.
Each year, collectors and archivists - whose acquisitions run the gamut from loose groupings to the hyper-specific - display their treasures to the public and share their stories in a rapid-fire show and tell. It is an opportunity to get up close and personal with obsessive labors of love.

**The City Reliquary Celebrates A New Addition! Join the Party This Saturday, June 29!**
[**Opening Party This Saturday, June 29 1:00-4:00 p.m.**](http://www.residencyunlimited.org/programs/ru-exhibition-mural-by-joaquin-torres-zavaleta-a-k-a-bater-at-city-reliquary-museum/)

The City Reliquary Museum is home to New York’s many histories, the multiple, interweaving narratives that make up this city we call home. This summer we are partnering with Argentinian artist [Joaquin Torres Zavaleta](https://www.behance.net/bater1335e3a) to create a mural in our backyard, celebrating some of the NYC plants and birds that came from other countries. As these species made their homes here they transformed the urban environment. Some even became local icons, like the ever-present pigeon. Joaquin’s mural asks us to think about migration, settlement, and the ways that cultural exchange is embedded in our cityscapes. We are excited to welcome these birds to our backyard and to highlight how immigration continues to enrich and strengthen our city.

We'll be celebrating the completion of the new mural with a party on Saturday, June 29! Join us for live music by [Julian Harris](https://www.julianharris.com/music-examples) (who also directed [this great video](https://www.instagram.com/bater133/)
of Joaquin's work) and [Sami y Sarah](https://soundcloud.com/samisarah), and hear from Joaquin [about his research and influences](http://www.residencyunlimited.org/residencies/joaquin-torres-zavaleta-a-k-a-bater/).

Many thanks to [Residency Unlimited](http://www.residencyunlimited.org/) for connecting us with Joaquin and providing refreshments for Saturday's party!
**The Art Neighborhood Keeps Growing!**

**Our Next Action Figure Workshop is Saturday, July 13 During Museum Hours, 12:00-6:00!**

[The Art Neighborhood](http://www.theartneighborhood.com/) is an interactive and collaborative art installation created by Brooklyn artist [Lisa Ludwig](http://lisamarieludwig.com/). It depicts an alternate universe shantytown populated by [superhero action figures](https://www.facebook.com/pg/theartneighborhood/photos/?ref=page_internal) built by community participants over the past 10 years. We welcome everyone to take part!

Have you seen [the new figures in the Art Neighborhood](https://www.facebook.com/pg/theartneighborhood/photos/) made by visitors to the Reliquary? Would you like to make your own? Visit the Museum on **Saturday, July 13**! We'll provide all the supplies you need - just let your imagination run wild!

As a community museum, new exhibitions and programming are only possible with your support.
