Collectors' Night is almost here, and there will be more fantastic treasures on view than ever before! Join us on September 7 to see art and artifacts gathered from far and near.
Our featured presenters this year are Louise Harpman and Laetitia Barbier! Architect and designer [Louise Harpman ](http://louiseharpman.com/bio/)will discuss her recent book on the design of the ubiquitous and surprisingly varied [coffee cup lid](https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/03/19/two-design-geeks-crazed-for-coffee-cup-lids). Laetitia Barbier, of the [Morbid Anatomy Museum,](http://morbidanatomy.blogspot.com/) will show some guillotine models from her personal collection. She'll explain how, as a very young child, a complete misunderstanding of the infamous machine's purpose led her to a life-long fascination and discuss the horror and titillation the guillotine inspired throughout the 19th century.
Plus, we'll have our usual eccentric assortment of fascinating collections and collectors! From 19th-century packaging to 1990s toys, machines, handicrafts, and more! You'll see it all - and we hope to see YOU there!

The Third Annual Miss Subways Extravaganza will take place on **Thursday, October 3, 2019**! We’re returning to [Littlefield](https://www.littlefieldnyc.com/), 635 Sackett Street in Brooklyn, for this year’s celebration of the weird, wild, frustrating, entertaining, and vital circulatory system that is our city’s subways.
This event serves as a call to arms for subway supporters and lovers of the NYC underground. A modern take on the [Miss Subways pageants held in NYC between 1941 and 1976](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Subways), subway riders of all ages and gender identities are encouraged to participate! In a [night of performances](https://gothamist.com/2018/09/28/photos_miss_subways_2018.php) spanning the classy, the trashy, the weird, and the whimsical, contestants will demonstrate their devotion to their subway line of choice. But only one can take home the transit tiara! Our panel of distinguished judges, with assistance from the audience, will select this year’s public ambassador, Miss Subways 2019.
