*8 Wheels & Some Soul Brotha Music with a Special Video Introduction by the Filmmaker*
This Friday, we'll be screening Tyrone Dixon's premiere documentary in the Reliquary's beautiful backyard garden. The film travels to roller rinks across the country and presents the urban voices of roller skating in the USA.
The screening is **free** with [regular museum entry](http://www.cityreliquary.org/admission/). Drinks from our generous sponsors at [Brooklyn Brewery](http://brooklynbrewery.com/) will be available by donation.
*Summer of Skate *films highlight documentaries and feature films related to rollerskating culture. They also provide late-night access to the City Reliquary's special exhibit, [*Empire Skate: The Birthplace of Roller Disco*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dUJJ66To0g).
**Doors are at 7.** **Films are screened at 8pm.
The museum will remain open until 10 pm.**
**On Thursday, September 27 at 7 PM**, the 2018 Miss Subways Pageant returns at [Littlefield](https://www.littlefieldnyc.com/directions/). With a wink and a nod to the<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Subways" style="mso-line-height-rule: exactly;-ms-text-size-adjust: 100%;-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;color: #007C89;font-weight: normal;text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color:#000000"> </span>Miss Subways pageants held in NYC between 1941 and 1976</a>, this event is a call to arms for advocates and lovers of the NYC underground.
**We’re still looking for contestants who believe they should be the ambassador for the subway in its time of crisis. **

**1)** a short essay telling us why you want to be Miss Subways 2018, what your favorite subway line is, and why it inspires/enrages/enchants you
**2)** a detailed description of your proposed performance. Show your love for our subterranean system through song, dance, poetry, or any other talent: Rubik’s cube solving, hula hooping, speed knitting, playing the sousaphone…surprise us!
**3)** a photo and/or short video (>3 minutes)
