**It'll be a true Extravaganza! **Our 2018 Miss Subways contestants are talented, fabulous, and passionate about public transit - you won't want to miss these performances. Much like the subway itself, they'll make you laugh, cry, and possibly scream! 

Our esteemed panel of judges, including City Council Speaker [Corey Johnson](https://twitter.com/CoreyinNYC), former Daily Show correspondent [Baratunde](http://baratunde.com/#baratunde), local legend NY1's [Roger Clark](https://twitter.com/RogerClark41), and Lower East Side art legend [RevJen Miller](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jen_Miller) have their work cut out for them in deciding who will take home the Transit Tiara. Come mingle, commiserate about the L, and cheer your favorite!

**After last year's sold out event, we've moved to a larger venue. However, it's still HIGHLY recommended to purchase tickets in advance. **

Join us on Saturday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m. for a walking tour of South Williamsburg with **Adrienne Onofri**,  author of [Walking Brooklyn](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0899978037).

Highlights of the route will include places associated with significant eras in Williamsburg's history and its industrial and brewing heritage, as well as landmark civic, commercial and religious buildings. The tour will last two hours and end off-site, near the Williamsburg Bridge.

**A Call For Poets**

We're very pleased to announce that the City Reliquary will host a poetry micro-residency with [The Poetry Society of New York](https://www.poetrysocietyny.org/) on October 11-14! This program aims to give working poets a small, dedicated time and space to write in a stimulating environment and promote the joy of poetry by exposing the public to contemporary poets at work.

The micro-residency coincides with [Open House New York Weekend](https://ohny.org/weekend) on October 13-14, when admission to the museum is by donation.
