In 2002, I began a simple window display in a Williamsburgh apartment. Seeing how the neighborhood was drastically changing, I wanted to offer something new that respected its rich past. By sharing a handful of local artifacts in a public display, this modest dream grew into a community project to honor the everyday, overlooked stories of New York.

With the participation of civic-minded New Yorkers, the dream became a real storefront museum -- a museum that seemed to exist despite all odds. Sincerity and passion outweighed cynicism and apathy, and our dream continued to grow. Now, after fifteen years, we hope to dream even bigger. **But we can't do it without your help.**

2017 saw some of the most successful exhibitions and events in the Reliquary's 15-year history:
**The 2017 Miss Subways Extravaganza** celebrated the unique talents of New Yorkers while raising funds to improve transportation in our city.
Our exhibition** Closet Archaeology** highlighted history that is literally under our feet and fostered a love of the past in Miriam Sicherman's fourth-grade archaeologists.
We also had another strong year of signature events honoring the **Collectors**, **Bike Fetishists**, and **Panorama Challengers** who make New York singular among major world cities.
**Our future depends on you.**
