The City Reliquary Museum is proud to present its annual Collectors’ Night on **Saturday, April 8 at the **[**New York City Fire Museum**](http://nycfiremuseum.org/). Collectors’ Night celebrates one of the quirkier cultural practices of everyday New Yorkers. Every year, self-proclaimed archivists and packrats of every stripe gather to show off their collections. Displays range from the charming and quotidian to the intriguingly morbid. With special presentations by guest speakers.

**Collectors’ Night 2017 Guest Speakers:**

- Schoolteacher Miriam Sicherman of the [*Closet Archeology* project](https://nyti.ms/1Kwa5gT) will discuss the 20th-century debris her 4th graders discovered under the floorboards of their 1913 NYC public school.
- Mike Zohn of [Obscura Antiques & Oddities](http://www.obscuraantiques.com/) will discuss his collection of original cover art from 1960s- and ‘70s-era Mexican comic books.
- Artist and activist [LuLu LoLo](http://www.lululolo.com/) of the [Where Are The Women Monuments Project](https://nyti.ms/2mKvaw8) will perform two short monologues drawn from the obituaries of [Elizabeth Tashjian](https://nyti.ms/2jKDOLZ), founder of [The Nut Museum](http://www.roadsideamerica.com/nut/CTOLDmus.html), and [Hugh Hicks](https://nyti.ms/2m6St6D), whose massive light bulb collection formed the [Mount Vernon Museum of Incandescent Lighting](http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/7591).

- Industrial Revolution and Mechanical Era ephemera from [Museum of Interesting Things](http://www.museumthings.org). With live interactive demonstrations! - Archival 16mm vintage cartoons by Tommy Stathes of [Cartoons on Film](http://www.cartoonsonfilm.com/). Screenings throughout the night! - A presentation representing 100 years of paper, cardboard and self-playing ephemeral records from [Michael Cumella](http://wfmu.org/MACrec/) aka [Phonograph DJ MAC](http://michaelcumella.com/phonographdj/index.html). Some records will be played on site! - Unique printed editions of Josef Albers' *Interaction of Color* from [Ben Sisto](http://www.bensisto.com/) - Preserved insects from Jamison Heldrich - WWII family ephemera from Harley Spiller, aka [Inspector Collector](http://inspectorcollector.com) - Mid-century desk lamps from [Ronda J. Smith](http://www.rondajsmith.com/) and Adrien Blanc - Reproduction mechanical banks from Georgine & Bill Eberight - Found fishing lures and metal tins from Gail Mitchell...and many more. All collectors will be invited to present an object from their collection in a *Rapid-Fire Show & Tell!*
