This film premiered at the 2013 [Art of Brooklyn Film Festival](http://www.theartofbrooklyn.org/). It explores why New Yorkers eat “chawclate” and drink “cawfee,” and how the accent became the vibrant soundtrack of a city. Featuring Penny Marshall, Amy Heckerling, Alan Dershowitz, and a cast of characters from Canarsie to Tottenville. The film has been covered by [NPR](http://www.npr.org/2013/05/16/184399458/you-know-it-when-you-hear-it-film-honors-new-yorks-accent), the [*New York Times*](http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/12/nyregion/do-they-really-tawk-like-that-not-now.html?_r=0), and [*The New Yorker*](http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/02/09/talk-31).
