This exhibition explores the nightclub era by way of a singular New York cabaret. Here you will find an all-but-lost history, pieced together from performers’ recollections and artifacts in private collections. These fragments offer a glimpse into the midcentury American dream through the eyes of some of the incredible artists who shaped this period.

Kirsten Larvick directed the award-winning documentary **John Hemmer & the Showgirls (2017)**, which tells the story of John Hemmer, a singer at the Latin Quarter in the 1960s. She was also Associate Producer of **Look at Us Now, Mother!** (2015), and Additional Editor for ***Bettie Page Reveals All*** (2012).

The City Reliquary will host an opening reception on **Saturday, May 27, from 6-9 pm**, where guests can meet Kirsten Larvick and former Latin Quarter performers Francine Storey and Darlene Lawson, who will share their first-hand memories of the captivating cabaret. We hope you'll join us!

**Antiques! Oddities! Ephemera! A City Reliquary (Back)Yard Sale Saturday, June 24, noon to 6 p.m. Free entry with museum admission**

Join us on June 24--Pride Weekend!--for **Antiques! Oddities! Ephemera! A City Reliquary (Back)Yard Sale**. For those who know the museum's [Collectors Night](https://www.brownstoner.com/brooklyn-life/city-reliquary-museum-williamsburg-brooklyn-collectors-night-2019/) event, a show-and-tell where collectors display their strange collections, this is a rare opportunity: **a show-and-sell**! Local vendors will be selling an eclectic variety of one-of-a-kind **vintage ephemera**, **unusual collectibles**, and **unique arts and crafts**.

True to its name, the event will take place in the museum's backyard.

We invite applications from vendors to show and sell their unusual and/or vintage wares. Acceptable items include: vintage collectibles, paintings, sculpture, woodcraft, ceramics, mosaics, fiber art, photography, jewelry, wearable art, glass art, and other unique objects.
