**Harmony is Miss Subways 2023! **

Last Friday, over 100 New Yorkers packed into Coney Island's Sideshows by the Seashore Theater to watch **Harmony, representing the 7 train, **take the Transit Tiara and the title of Miss Subways 2023.

Competition was tough! Highlights included a scintillating subway-inspired rendition of "What I Did For Love" from *A Chorus Line *by **Lena Horné**, and a sassy dance routine by **MX. MAD SCIENTRESS**, who wore** **an MTSlay medical coat and Doc Ock tentacles. But the celebrity judges were won over by Harmony's sparkling personality and energetic hula hoop routines. Thanks to all the wonderful contestants, our celebrity judges and Miss Congeniality panel, emcee and Miss Coney Island Maggie McMuffin, and everyone who came out to Coney Island!

**The Latin Quarter Revue: Behind the Curtain** invites you into the dazzling nightclub era by way of a singular New York cabaret. From 1942 to 1969, the 630-seat restaurant theatre drew top talent from around the world to the heart of Times Square.

Guest curator, award-winning documentarian and archivist **Kirsten Larvick, **pieces together a mix of ephemera, souvenirs, photographs, and performers’ memorabilia to bring the glamor of the Latin Quarter to life. Each fragment offers a glimpse into the dream of mid-century America, through the eyes of some of the incredible artists who shaped this period.

You are invited to the **opening reception on Saturday, May 27, from 6-9pm,** where you can meet Kirsten Larvick. The reception will also feature appearances by former Latin Quarter showgirls Francine Storey and Darlene Lawson, who will share their first-hand memories of the captivating cabaret.

**The Latin Quarter Revue: Behind the Curtain **will run through January 2024.
