Join us **July 15 at 7 PM** to celebrate the release of *MTA Love Poems*. This illustrated poetry zine is dedicated to the bureaucratic monolith we all love to hate: the MTA! Poems by [Kady Ruth Ashcraft](http://kadyruth.com/) and illustrations by [Layla Kenney](http://www.laylakenney.com/).

A relic from a local tradition

Last week marked the beginning of the Giglio festival held by Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. The Giglio has been a tradition in the Williamsburg Italian-American community since 1903.

We're sharing our relic from this local tradition: the bishop's crook from the figure of St. Paulinus of Nola that surmounts the Giglio tower. Always on view in our storefront window.

Saying goodbye to a pillar of our community

We extend our sincerest condolences to the family of Manny Franquinha and all our friends at Crest Hardware & Urban Garden Center. Manny was a pillar of our community who set the tone for many of his civic-minded neighbors. His spirit was quiet and stoic, yet inclusive and benevolent. From behind the scenes he inspired many and built bridges among a community challenged by constant change. At The City Reliquary, we are proud to be one of the many ripples in the wake of his impact.
