Mermaid Parade, June CR Events, and Bicycle Fetish Day!
We first highlighted Miriam Sicherman's classroom project at Collectors' Night 2017, and now it's back in exhibit-form from May 25 to August 27th. You can find more info in this [NYT write-up](https://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/26/nyregion/young-treasure-hunters-dig-up-history-lessons-in-a-classrooms-closet.html), and by following the Closet Archaeology[ Instagram account](https://www.instagram.com/closetarchaeology/). The daytime opening party will be held in the backyard and feature presentations from some of the junior archaeologist from the Children's Workshop School as well as professional collectors and anthropologists. More info on event specifics can be found [here](http://www.cityreliquary.org/closetarch/).
We need *at least* one vollie to stay from 1-6 to help with set-up and break-down. Could that be you???
We need one vollie from 5-10 to watch the front desk and assist with some light set-up and break-down. This is a private party held in the backyard, so the museum will not be open for visitors. This will be a very low-key front desk shift.
Russell has done several City Reliquary performances in 2017, but this will mark his first al fresco screening. Russell is a film archivist who curates short clips based around a theme. You can get a sneak peek [here](https://vimeo.com/34964113).
We need 1 vollie to take admissions. Once the films start, you'll be able to pass along front desk duties and head to the backyard to check out the films.
Bicycle Fetish Day is just around the corner! This year, our annual block party for bicycle enthusiasts will be taking place on June 24th. We'll be sending out more info in the next weeks, but in the meantime check out this pic of last year's incredible four-person bike swing!
As per usual, Dominick will be handling scheduling for all events. Keep an eye out for his monthly emails to sign up. Thanks for being Civic New Yorkers!!
See you soon,
